Commissioned by riskygamble of LJ for pickup at AWA 2007. I'm a fairly big fan of Molly Star Racer (or Oban Star Racers) since I like the style of the show and character designs though I never got to watch as much of it as I'd have liked since it started airing on Disney.
Her theme for her Molly commissions is ';partnership' so this is what I came up with to go with that- he's holding her up and helping her 'fly'.
Pose was a little difficult, but I didn't use reference for it (just character design reference.) Its nice to be able to do the badges beforehand sometimes so I can use references and not be rushed.

Oh yeah, I also really like gel pens, but they tend not to be as narrow as I like for most drawings, which is why I use the Microns. If they made gel pens that small I'd probably use them more.

LOL I always feel like my pen lines are too wobbly ^_^; For this one I used Microns, I'm kinda OC about drawing tiny so I have 005 and 01 and that's about all I use. For other pen stuff I like to use ballpoint, its kinda hard to find one that flows well but you can still do gradients with, but so far this Bic Atlantis is working pretty well. I like ballpoint because its more like pencil, but sometimes a nice even black line looks better.
I keep meaning to get back into ink and brush, but I don't know what to make. Bamboo brush= awesome.

Awesome...I'm really bad with ballpoint pens..I always smudge them. o_o

Ahh I use ink and brush stuff sometimes...It just REALLY sucks when you spill ink and get huge sploges on yer pics. xD lol

I worry about drips too ^_^; Yeah, most pens I risk smudging, since I pencil stuff in first and then erase. So I have to make myself wait for them to set up. To me it doesn't seem like one type smears more or less than the other. If the ink blobs, it'll smear. Though cheap ballpoint are more likely to blob.
